Frizzle Sizzle Plant is a compact bulb plant known for narrow leaves that twist into corkscrew curls. The foliage rises from an underground bulb and gives the plant an unusual shape even when it is not blooming. In late winter or spring, tall stalks carry yellow flowers with a vanilla fragrance. It suits a bright room and a grower comfortable with a seasonal growth cycle.

Light requirements

Frizzle Sizzle Plant favors bright, indirect light at 150 to 250 μmol·m⁻²·s⁻¹.

Watering

Allow the Frizzle Sizzle Plant's soil to become completely dry before watering. Surface dryness alone is not enough, so test lower layers with a knitting needle or chopstick. Moist soil will cling to the tool.

Soil

Use an organic succulent potting mix that drains quickly around the Frizzle Sizzle Plant's bulb. Fine, dense soil can hold too much water and encourage decay.

Feeding

Give Frizzle Sizzle Plant an organic fertiliser designed for succulents every 2 to 4 weeks from March to October. Apply the product at its stated strength and avoid feeding dry soil. Do not continue routine feeding through the inactive winter period.

Temperature & humidity

Frizzle Sizzle Plant grows well at 65 to 75°F / 18 to 24°C. Keep humidity between 40 and 50%. Avoid cold drafts, sudden temperature shifts and stagnant damp air. Ordinary household humidity generally falls near its preferred range.

What to expect
